I already trademarked my name as The Coupon Ninja via youtube...so that clearly makes it official. I'm just gonna think of ideas till then. Obviously any and all suggestions would be lovely.

It's self explanatory, but basically you rack up all kinds of points when you just walk into a store and you can redeem those points for gift cards, movie tickets, etc. It's awesome. If you have a bf, husband, etc you like to go shopping with. Have them do the same, so every time you go out, you are basically getting double points. Believe it or not, my man lets me know now when there's a great sale somewhere lol

Patience is kind of the key here. Sometimes you just see something you want and use a coupon and that's it. The way to get the best deal is wait for it to go on sale, THEN stack it with your coupon...and stock up on them. Use your freezer space. For example. I like Cheese. It's 2.99. I have a dollar off manufacturer coupon. I dollar off Target Coupon target.com. (yes these can be combined). This makes it .99, which seems like an amazing deal right? What about you wait until it goes on sale for 2 for $3. Use two paper coupons, one target. 2 packets of cheese for FREE! Staking coupons on top of sales is the best possible option. That's how you will really start to save. Also compare prices in the weekly circulars that are in the paper. I never used to go to JONS...which is right down the street from me, but their produce is like 1/3 of the price of my normal grocery store.
Get a SUNDAY newspaper Subscription...it will be cheaper than paying $1.50 buying it anywhere else...and why not go for the sale, right?
You will see savings in the long run. My estimate is that you could save $thousands$/year. When it comes to drug stores, you can actually get the best deals here, but you have to get over your first initial purchase :) If you follow my blog, you will never pay for toothpaste, deodorant or toothbrushes again...and apparently light bulbs :)
So get your rewards cards, sunday paper subscription, start organizing your coupons and send me any and all questions.

(not pictured...Peanut M & M's...which are in my belly)
Well well well. I started with $14.50...then I paid $5.13...then yesterday I paid $26.12. Which is a grand total of...$45.75 out of pocket.
However, I have $30 in +UP Rewards back. Which means I've spent $15.75 for merchandise that totals well over $160 dollars. On a side note, I'm clearly set on Laundry Detergent, Toilet paper and Tissues :) Also, January isn't even over yet...

3 Sunday Papers!
I get the Sunday paper delivered every week for 75 cents, which is a great deal, since it's $1.50 at a newspaper stand. Well since I'm trying to build my coupon database, I know I need more papers. So I called the LA Times and upgraded to 3 Sunday Papers...and asked for a deal...they said SURE... 50 cents, per. So that's $1.50/week. Usually just one coupon saves that, so it's completely worth it. Wanna know something sad? I get anxious Saturday nights...hahahaha like I can't wait to see what deals are gonna be in the paper. Sunday mornings I wake up like it's Christmas and run downstairs...ridiculous lol
I'm taking the plunge tonight to get my "$100 spent" at Rite Aid...Gonna total it all out tonight and see how much I paid and got since I started this adventure just a week or so ago. Muahaha
Also...wanna free subscription to Bridal Guide? Click here I'm a sucker for free stuff. Must be the Scottish girl in me...who knows :)

Ok I took another journey to Rite Aid today. I'm determined to get $20 +UP rewards...just gotta make it to $100 "spent". I say spent, bc as you know, all I've spent thus far at Rite Aid is my initial $14.50 purchase. But my receipt says I've spent $79.25 thus far.
Ok so here's what I got:
Loreal Blush $10.95
Loreal MIneral Powder $10.95
Bic Razors $6.49
Bic Razors $6.49
Toilet Paper Single $1
Toilet Paper 4 pack $1
Maybelline Mascara $7.39
Grand Total of $ 44.25 ...I think not.
Loreal had a sale of Buy One Get One Half Off. Well, I just so happen to also have a $5 off coupon for any two Loreal products ..so that's $11.42 AND you get 3+UP Rewards per Loreal Product...so I'll be getting $6 back
I had a coupon for Bic Razors of Buy One Get One Free...and $2.00 of any single pack. So that's 4.49... for 2 :)
Toilet Paper Single and 4 pack...as we know are 1 +UP per, so FREE!
Well well well...I also had a $4 off $20 purchase of Beauty products...which I got online at adperk.com after "watching" a couple maybelline commercials. so 11.42 + 4.49 + 7.39 + 2= 25.41- 18 +UP Rewards I already had - $4 beauty discount = $3.30 + tax = 5.13
So instead of $44.25, I spent $5.13....and then my +UP rewards printed. $8 Total... I'm still in the green by 3 dollars :) ...and have $79.25 worth of products :) BAM!!!

Ok so now it's getting serious lol
So I have 15 +UP Rewards from my past purchase, which basically means I have $15 to spend at Rite Aid.
Tissues and Toilet Paper (Rite Aid Brand) are $1.00, but you get $1 +UP for each purchase...which basically means they are free. You only have to pay tax. The tissues are w/aloe and super soft btw. Anyways so I grabbed 15 boxes of tissues. Total was $15 plus tax. I scanned my $15 +UP Rewards from my last purchase. I paid tax...and guess what happened? $15 +UP Rewards printed out. So they I turned around and did the same thing with the toilet paper.
So I'm sat at home with $30 worth of tissues and toilet paper...and STILL have my 15 +UP Rewards to spend. All I paid was like $3.00 worth of tax.
This is actually what I did the other day as well...but I thought explaining it twice would be confusing. So since I've started with the Rite Aid Rewards Program, I have only spent $13.50 and I've received $56 in free products...and I have $15 in +UP rewards. Soooo so far I'm plus $1.50.
If I get up to $100, I get an additional $20 in +UP Rewards...trying to make it. If I play my cards right, by Jan 22nd I'll have made $35 and have $100 in Rite Aid products for free....(with my $13.50 down payment per se)

Understanding CVS, Rite Aid and Wallgreens
The first stage was getting ahold of the basics and understanding how the best time to buy is when you have a coupon for something that's already on sale. I think I nailed that one with my 85% savings and a lifetime supply of Progresso Soup haha I also started to accumulate a list of prices of things I buy a lot. That way I know where the cheapest place to buy them are...and when something is a great sale and I should stock up. However I kept hearing about these crazy stories of people spending $6 on $292 worth of stuff! I'm determined to beat it. Now I know I've gotta build up my coupon database, but I figured I'd make the plunge today and try it out. Well well well...I'm sat here pretty proud of myself right now.
Rite Aid is right by my house and the Sunday Paper showed some great deals. Basically 4 packs of toilet paper, boxes of tissues, Hormel Chilli were on sale for 99 cents with $1 UP Rewards. I bought:
10 packs of toilet paper ($10) plus 10 +UP Rewards
6 boxes of tissues ($6) plus 6 +UP Rewards
2 boxes of Viactiv Calcium Chews ($12) + 2 x $3 off coupon plus 6+UP Rewards
8 Chilli cans ($10) + 2 x $1.50 off coupon plus 10 +UP Rewards
So total was $38 - 7.50 in coupons = $30.5, but I got 32 dollars in +UP Rewards
That's a profit of $1.50 but I also have $30.50 to spend towards my next purchase. I'm going to use that money, to do the same thing until I've "spent" $100, in which case I get $20 additional +UP Rewards, which means on Jan 22nd, Rite Aid will have paid me $20 to get $100 worth of stuff for free. I can't believe I haven't been aware of this my whole life!
Beginning Stages
Ok...one of my 2011 New Years Resolutions was to become the ultimate coupon ninja. I kept reading and hearing about these women who were saving thousands of dollars going grocery shopping, and I wanted in on the game. It actually takes a lot of planning and research to understand, but after a few short Sunday's...I'm really starting to get the hang of it.
My first attempt was at VONS. Anthony eats Progresso Soup like it's going out of style, but unfortunately they are $2.49/can at my local store. Well VONS finally had a sale of 99 cents per can. I knew that now was the time to stock up. Well my Sunday paper had printed that if you used home delivery...First time users got $15 off a purchase of $50 plus free delivery. So I ordered 50 cans of Progresso Soup. Turns out it was a misprint in the paper, but VONS honored it anyways. 50 cans of soup delivered to my door for $35. Well it gets even better, they were out of 10 cans of what I ordered, so they sent me 10 replacements, but rebated me the $10 anyways. So now that's 50 cans of soup, delivered to my door for $25. Factor in some Sunday Paper coupons? $20....for 50 cans that should've cost me $124.50, which is 85% savings. BAM!
